Rain....at least a little bit!

Well, it did rain, but not much. We got about 0.35" total over 2 days. Not great, but better than nothing!

The long range forecasts say that this winter will probably be warmer than normal. What??? I want some REALLY cold weather, so I feel like I've been through winter. ;) Actually I'd prefer to have rain rather than cold weather at this point.

November 10th, 2008

The weather here is finally taking an interesting turn! We have a tornado watch just to the west of us, which may soon be re-configured to include us, too. Wow!

The cause is a cold front coming from the northwest, along with a deep layer of moisture over the state. We had a 60% chance of rain today, but really didn't get anymore than sprinkles. Hopefully we will get a few "gully washers" overnight and tomorrow! I'm excited to see some lightning and hear a few good rumbles of thunder. It's perfect sleeping weather! (As long as a tornado doesn't form up.....yikes!) 70% chance tonight.

I'm keeping an eye on the radar tonight. So far nothing really exciting has formed yet. I'll be sure to post if anything does seem to start happening!

November 6th, 2008

We had our first frost on the morning of October 28th! Although I don't think it quite got down to the freezing point.

We are approximately 15 inches behind on our rain for this year. :( The rain chances we do have never materialize into anything more than a few sprinkles here and there.

One of these days (nights) we'll have our first freeze. The cold fronts come pretty regularly now and drop us into the 40's for a couple nights at a time. We haven't had a "Blue Norther" yet, but I heard a rumor of some much colder air making it down here the last week or so of November. Even though it's dry, we're still enjoying the beautiful Fall weather! :)
