Hurricane Ike

Well, Ike is a thing of the past now. We got some breezy conditions, but not one drop of rain. :( We spent the early afternoon setting out sprinklers on the thirsty lawn.

I know it'll rain again someday.....right? ;)

Hurricane Ike

Wow! This hurricane has been full of surprises! Anyone who is left on Galveston island is in very serious danger now!

I'm not sure if we're going to get any rain from Ike. We're forecast to get rain and even some tropical storm force winds, but we'll see. We did have a very pretty sunset with all the high-level clouds from the east!

This is not going to be a pleasant night for the upper Texas coast! We'll be praying for everyone's safety.

September 8th, 2008

I'm keeping a close watch on Hurricane Ike. It's currently looking like the storm will at least head through the Caribbean in this direction. Of course it's much too early to tell what it will do exactly, but it's fun to try and predict it! :)

We could really use the rain. We've had to start watering our yards almost every day! I think today (Monday), we'll get the grass mowed and edged just in time for a little frontal system to blow through and give us a slight chance of rain.

Hurricane Gustav - Changing my tune!

Well, it now looks like we won't be getting much of anything out of Gustav! The storm is turning more towards the northwest and will be moving into northeast Texas tomorrow. This means that we will get some extra heat on the back side of the storm.

Still keeping my hopes up though! :) Maybe we'll get something out of Ike!
